Job Description

General Summary

Assists in delivering patient care in the rehabilitation setting under direct supervision as described in State of Maryland Practice Acts.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.

  •  Prepares and maintains treatment areas and equipment to adhere to appropriate infection control standards, as well as maintains logs to assure compliance.
  •  Assists the licensed clinicians in the delivery of patient care as permitted by State of Maryland Practice Acts. Assists in the training of new rehabilitation technician staff.
  • . Assists administrative staff with scheduling patients, and co-pay collection, and/or provides specialized clinical support.
  •  Monitors and maintains inventory to assure adequate supplies.
  •  Demonstrates patient-centered care and service.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  •  High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-year relevant experience required.
  •  Current ACLS or BCLS certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Highly effective verbal communication skills including courtesy, resourcefulness and efficiency in answering questions, giving directions, locating staff and explaining hospital/departmental policies and procedures are necessary. Verbal communication skills may include communicating with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and families. Effective writing skills are also required in order to take messages and maintain miscellaneous records, receipts, reports and log
